Default Can I have both Office 2003 and Office 2007 on the same PC?

I have a PC that came with Office 2003 pre-installed at C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office.

I qualify for the Home User Pack and can either upgrade to, or install,
Office 2007.

I would like to keep both versions on the PC as some users won't like the
transition.

I presume I can create a new folder at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
2007, or C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\2007 and install Office 2007
there such that I can have and use both versions on the same PC at the same
time.

However when I start the install process I get all sorts of dire warnings in
respect of Outlook.

If I have both Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 installed and operational on
the same PC are there any issues I should be aware of?

I would like to transfer my existing Outlook files (.pst and .ost) from
Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 - I am the only user of the PC that uses
Outlook. How would I go about this?

Are there any other issues I should be aware of?

TIA.

Chris.

You cannot have both version of Outlook installed. It's one or the other.

OK. But how do I transfer my existing .pst and .ost files and any others
that are necessary from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 in order that I can
retain my existing Messages, folder structure, Calendar, Tasks etc?

Presumably I have to somehow save these before I delete O 2003 and then
configure O 2007 to pick these up after installation. But how?

Default Oops! Office 2002 not 2003 as previously suggested.

Just established that my existing version is Outlook 2002 SP3, not Outlook
2003. No wonder the proposed solutions don't fit.

How can I have both Office 2002 and Office 2007 on the same PC at the same
time?

I understand there might be issues with the different versions of Outlook.
How do I get around these?

If there will be trouble with the transisiton, then don't give it to them.
Keep '03 and forget about '07.

No, you cannot have both.

We use Office 2007 at work and some aspects are much better, e.g. the limits
on Excel 2007 are much greater than Excel 2003 which means you can handle
significantly greater volumes of data, and it's more intuitive. So I want
to upgrade.

Well then, your choice is made. Migrate to '07 and hold training courses for
your employees.

You do not have an option of avoiding confusion that the migratiion to '07
might create because there are features that you deemed to be more valuable
than the avoidance strategy of maintaining your instalation of '03.

You say that '07 is more intuitive, that is precisely what I do not like
about the suite. I find that the structure and location of features is
counterintuitive. I am not confused by the changes, but I am confused that
anybody would think the changes are actually helpful ...
