"Nothing" as in "nothing" or as in "it didn't work out like I wanted"? From Help....................... Sort rows by 2 or 3 columns For best results, the list you sort should have column labels. Click a cell in the list you want to sort. On the Data menu, click Sort. In the Sort by and Then by boxes, click the columns you want to sort. Select any other sort options you want, and then click OK. Did you follow these instructions? Note: if the columns are not contiguous, Excel may(will?) not select all columns you want. Best to pre-select all columns in your range-to-sort. Lunar positioning?
Left shoe on right foot? Whatever the case, glad it's sorted out. Gord On Fri, 6 Feb 2004 07:11:06 -0800, "Mindy" wrote: Gord, This is wierd. I tried doing the sort before I responded to you and it worked. Why is it that one day it didn't worked but today it worked and I did the same thing? Thanks, Mindy ----- Gord Dibben wrote: ----- Mindy So what leads you to believe it "didn't work"? Did anything special happen that was not what you expected? Did it sort one column but not another? Did it ignore one or more of your "sort by" and "then by"? Does your data look like numeric but sorts like text? Did you read the instructions from Help? Plus my caveat about pre-selecting all columns in your sort range? Gord On Thu, 5 Feb 2004 18:56:05 -0800, "Mindy" wrote: Hi Gord, I'm sorry I wasn't clearer. Nothing as in it didn't work.
