Pause animation
I'm using custom animations to animate a chart and I'd like to be able to
pause the animation and then resume, is there a way to do this? I'm using PowerPoint 2007 but will probably save the file as 2003. |

Thanks, I was hoping that there might be a pause show function built into PPT
that I could use without creating macros, is there anything available? "Matt" wrote: I'm using custom animations to animate a chart and I'd like to be able to pause the animation and then resume, is there a way to do this? I'm using PowerPoint 2007 but will probably save the file as 2003. |

In fact, you just have to copy and paste the macro.

My issue isn't with creating the macros, but rather with having macros in a
file that I would want to share, I don't want to have to worry about security settings, etc. I guess I was hoping there might be some magic keyboard shortcut that would pause the presentation.... Can you set some of the chart animations to "on click" instead of automatic?
Then you can just click when you're ready to resume. Add an animation (like a wipe) to the chart, then double-click the animation in the pane and go to the Chart Animations tab. Set your grouping to the appropriate setting (probably "by element in series" or something). Close the dialog. Then double-click the downward-pointing chevron just below the chart animation in the pane. Select ONE of the elements and change it to "on click" at the top of the animation pane. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx "Matt" wrote in message ... Yes, I'm currently using this method. What I'd like to do is actually pause
the animation like in mid "wipe". "Echo S" wrote: Can you set some of the chart animations to "on click" instead of automatic? Then you can just click when you're ready to resume. There are a couple of keyboard shortcuts that work during shows. Press F1 during a show to see a list; try out any promising ones to see if they work in your specific situation. Matt
I've just had a play around trying to pause a slide show graph mid-wipe I found if I press any of the number keys along the top row of the keyboard (e.g. 2) my chart would pause mid show. cheers TAJ Simmons Microsoft Powerpoint MVP http://www.awesomebackgrounds.com awesome - powerpoint templates, powerpoint backgrounds, free samples, ppt tutorials...
