Is this possible? Want to have a Master Document (source)
feeding into several sheets of a Destination Document so
using links (cell links and paste special several cell
links). All ok and updates. However, want to rename the
Master Document to a different Month Name at end of every
month. Still want the Destination document to know this
and update accordingly so what was MasterJan has changed
to MasterFeb and I want the destination sheets to know
that and update. Is there any way at all? Help much
appreciated. Thanks. Sally

If you have the destination document open and with the Master document
active File / Save As / MasterFeb then the links in the destination
document will automatically be changed.

Hi Sally

My guess would be using a macro. As you know if you open
all spreadsheets that are linked to the master, then
rename the master (from Jan to feb) Excell automatically
updates that link in all speadsheets. So if you didn't
want to do this arduous task each time, you can set up a
macro that will do it for you, then assign a button on
the spreadsheet to activate the macro (all in help), but
basically when you press record on a macro, it will
record every action you do until you press stop.

Great advice. Thanks. Think I'll create a workspace with
the relevant books that way they will always open together
so if I rename the master at any stage, the links will
automatically update.
Thanks again!
