Default Keeping messages on Exchange server

My wife works at home one day a week and is connected to her office via a
VPN. When using Outlook 2007 at home, the emails she downloaded at the office
are not available and when at work, the emails she downloaded at home are not
available on her office PC. Her exchange account on her home PC is setup to
receive messages to a .pst file which I realize now is incorrect. Is there a
way to change this or do we need to create a new account in Oulook to
configure the correct settingsA? Thanks in advance!
