Default Office H & S 2007 install on Vista 64 problems

Hi everyone, I'd really appreciate some help.

I just replaced my 10-year-old PC and am trying to install Office Home and
Student 2007 on my new Vista 64 machine. Unfortunately, whether I use the
autorun or manually double-click setup.exe on the disc, nothing happens. I
get an hourglass briefly, the disc spins in the drive, and setup.exe appears
in the task manager for about three seconds then disappears. Nothing else
happens.

I'm logged in as an administrator, I've tried to right-click on setup.exe
and select run as admin from there, I've tried changing compatibility mode to
XP SP2, and nothing seems to work.

I've been searching online for awhile now and can't find anything with
regard to this issue. Has anyone seen this before? Or, can anyone give me
some suggestions? I didn't anticipate any problems because I read in many
places that Office 2007 runs fine on Vista 64, so I uninstalled Works and the
free 60-day Office trial from my new PC before I tried to install the full
version of Office to avoid conflicts. Unfortunately, I don't have access to
Word or Excel now, and it's going to be a problem.

Help! Thanks in advance.

This thread can be closed. I figured out that the problem was caused by
Norton AV; disabling it allowed me to install Office 2007 with no problems.
