Default Virus Check

Windows XP, Office 2003, AVG Free antivirus software.

When I start any Excel programme, it carries out a virus check.
This is not a selectable option under Tools/Options.
How can I stop it happening?

Default Virus Check

It's not an Office function. Look at your antivirus settings.
