Default VERRY long, thin page format

I would like to print a document that is 3" wide and perhaps 36" or 48" long.
I'm having trouble getting this accomplished, and I'm not sure if the
problem is my page settings in Word or the settings of my printer. My
printer is a few years old -- a Canon S600, but it's been a workhorse for me.

Should I be looking at Word or at my printer settings?

Thanks in advance.

The largest page size supported by Word is 22" x 22". You might
try Publisher or Powerpoint, both of which will allow you to
define a longer or wider custom paper size.
