Errors 1904 and 1919 during XP setup
When installing Office XP Professional first I get Error
1904 and when "ignored" I get get Error 1919 3 times. This problem is outlined exactly in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 299066. However, this article applies to Windows 98; I have Windows ME. It talks of installing System Files Update using OSP.MSI. I tried this, but I get the message saying that System Files Update will not run on my computer. I tried 'repairing,' but get the same Errors 1904 and 1919. Because of all this I am unable to run Access; Word and Excel work fine. Any help? |

Errors 1904 and 1919 during XP setup
Hi Peter,
The CAUSE why you are not able to use Access: This problem may occur if the Msjter40.dll file and the Msrclr40.dll file on your computer are missing, are outdated, or have become corrupted. RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, copy the Msjter40.dll file and the Msrclr40.dll file from the Microsoft Office 2000 Setup CD to the System folder on your computer, and then register these .dll files manually. To do this, follow these steps: Locate the following .dll files on the Microsoft Office 2000 Setup CD: Msjter40.dll Msrclr40.dll Copy the .dll files from the Microsoft Office 2000 Setup CD to the following folder on your computer: C:\Windows\System Note If your computer runs the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, copy the .dll files to the following folder instead: C:\WinNT\System32 Click Start, and then click Run. In the Run dialog box, type cmd in the Open text box, and then click OK. At the command prompt, type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command. regsvr32 Absolute Path of the Msjter40.dll File regsvr32 Absolute Path of the Msrcl40.dll File If you have manually registered the .dll files and this action did not resolve the problem, you can download and install the latest updated version of Microsoft Jet 4.0 to replace the .dll files that have become corrupted. For additional information about how to obtain the latest updated version of Microsoft Jet 4.0, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 239114 How To: Obtain the Latest Service Pack for the Microsoft Jet 4.0 Database Engine Please let me know has this helped You... Errors 1904 and 1919 during XP setup
Raghu,
Thank you for the quick reply. However, I was able to fix the problem before I received your solution. I did some more digging at Microsoft's support area and ended up downloading and installing the latest MS Jet 4.0 Database engine. All is fine now. Thanks again.
