Default Arrange columns (lo - hi) in a Pivot Chart bar graph.

I am using the Pivot Chart Report and the columns are displayed in
alphabetical category order. I desire an arrangement of the categories in
value order (lo - hi) as excel displays the columns in the regular bar
charts. How do I change the sequence of the columns on the Pivot Chart
Report?? Would greatly appreciate any help. Tomc

Hi,

The pivot chart order is based on the pivot table order of the field being
considered.

Suppose the the data looks like this in the pivot table

Values Field
Row Label Total Sold
A 30
B 12
C 5
D 25
E 37

Open the Filter for the Row Label field and choose More Sort Options, check
Ascending (A to Z) by, open the drop-down below this option and choose Total
Sold, click OK.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

Cheers,

Shane,
Thanks for responding. The problem is that I don't know what I'm doing. I
have a table set up like your example in excel. I go to Data pivot table
pivot chart report, and the columns are arranged in sequence by the column

label regardless of value. Per your instructions, I highlighted the row
label field, Data Filter and my only options were Auto Filter and Advanced
Filter. I clicked on Auto filter and it placed down arrows on the labels
which permitted me to sort the colums the way I wanted. After that however,
I went through the procedure to do the pivot chart, and it gave me the same
arrangement???? I'm using Office 2003 excel. I'm trying.
