Default Hot to print on colored paper?

Is it possible to set up Publisher to print on colored paper? I bought some
blue paper that I'd like to print on. Of course, now I have to tell my HP
6540xi deskjet to print the white color (I don't care if it still prints the
blues).

Thanks,

Thomas

You can't print "white" ink because there is no such thing. You can make the
text transparent, but then it would show the blue of the paper. You could
try pale yellow, but I doubt it would show up well.

I am not sure that your printer is capable of producing white text on
coloured paper, unless one of the ink colours in the tri-colour cartridge is
white.. highly unlikely..

Ordinary inkjets can not print the in white. As a result, white will be
whatever color the paper is which in this case is blue. All of your other
colors will also be affected. Don't expect to see a vivid yellow or red
since the color of the paper becomes a part of the printed output.

You can't print white - at least not with a DeskJet printer.

So, you can't even print pale colors if it's not white paper? If you
print on blue paper, pale blue (color) wouldn't come out any lighter than
the blue paper?

I never really thought of this. I've been printing bookmarks on off white
heavy paper, sort of pale gold/beige and that is the color that shows
instead of white. Maybe that's why the graphics tend to come out kind of
dark and dingy.

I'm still a newbie when it comes to printing.

Carrie

The basecoat (paper stock colour) will affect the top coat (contents of the
cartridge) every time.. in the case of inkjet printing, this is most
certainly true.. during the litho printing process, the ink is laid onto the
paper from a reverse image on the 'blanket'.. inkjet printing essentially
fires ink droplets into the fibre of the paper.. one reason why one should
use inkjet paper rather than just any old stuff..

Carrie -

Think of it this way - You can't wear a red bra under a sheer white blouse
without seeing red. ;-)
