Data source limits
I am looking for the maximum number of records in a data source that can be
used in a Word Merge. I need to produce 40,000 letters and need to know if Word can handle it. Thank you David |

Hi =?Utf-8?B?RGF2aWQgRnJlZWRtYW4=?=,
There is no official upper limit for the number of records Word's mail merge can handle. There are usually practical limits, however, that are determined by the resources provided by the hosting machine. IOW, some trial and error will be necessary. FWIW, mail merge gets slower as the merge progresses. Word apparently always goes back and starts counting at "1" as it processes each record. So you will likely find you'll need to break the mail merge down into smaller blocks. I am looking for the maximum number of records in a data source that can be used in a Word Merge. I need to produce 40,000 letters and need to know if Word can handle it.
