Default Scheduler Question

One of my template competitors has a pretty nice scheduling template:
http://www.accesstogo.org.uk/Appointments_Planner.html
It's a few bucks (not free)

Peter Hibbs has some nice flex grid samples which I see you found.

This guy has a scheduling template:
http://www.access-template.com/
Again a few bucks

I have an ongoing project to build an appointment scheduling program but I
want to do it better than
most of the Access samples you can find. Try utteraccess search for lots of
regular calendar samples.

If you want to just buy a program:
http://www.abs-usa.com/

The sample given away with the calendar control I was using is not too bad
(but be warned the more you try to do with it
the more difficult it becomes, at least a magnitude of 10 over traditional
access calendars or even flex grid work).
http://www.codejocksoftware.com/prod.../?platform=com

In my opinion using one of the nice calendar controls makes the application
much much nicer, but not a route for the
unexperienced to go down. .net development is probably a better way to go
if using one of these controls.

www.abs-usa.com would be my first suggestion. Appointment scheduling is
an area that is
pretty well covered by software products. Most are just a few hundred
bucks. Buy vs. build perhaps points to buy?

PS: Send me an email or call if you need any extra help. I looked at a lot
of appointment scheduling options last year when I started
writing my appointment software (It's not done at this point in time).

I'm looking for information on how I might create a sort of scheduling
matrix. What I would like is a Form/Subform that matches a column of
CLIENTS
with a row of CAREGIVERS and the day and time of the appointments.
Ideally,
this would resemble a weekly calendar, where only the appointments for the
current (or selected) week would appear. I'm thinking I need three
tables...
Clients, Caregivers, and Appointments. I've looked at Peter Hibbs' Time
Sheet Display, using the Flex Grid control
(http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/f...67 9b5z316d54
) and I'm very interested but have no idea how to use it. Seems to me
that
this is a Form design issue and maybe a code issue to make it work, but
I'm
having trouble wrapping my head around it. Any pointers that will help
clear
the mud would be appreciated, and references to resources that will do the
same will be gratefully accepted.

Default Scheduler Question

Jaybird,

If you still want to use the flex grid control I would suggest you use
the Cross Tab example.

Although the code is relatively simple it would need some thought on
how to program the VBA code so unless you are very comfortable with
that, it could be a tricky project.

Perhaps if you study the code in the examples you can figure out what
you would need to do.

I don't know of any Flex Grid tutorials apart from what Microsoft
publish although as this control is mainly used by VB6 users you may
find something on Web sites for VB. The documentation I supplied does
give a list of all the properties, events, etc for the control (which
I guess you have already seen).

Mr. Hibbs,

Your Employee Time Sheet demo is almost precisely what I am looking for. I
guess what I need is more information for how to do what you did.

Sincerely,

Jaybird

Default An Open Letter Regarding visio john .........

visio john is the one who does not understand the concept of FREE peer to
peer support! He never offers any help to posters in the Access newsgroups.
If visio john was truly an MVP, he would be offering help to posters rather
than repetitiously posting repugnant messages and wasting the time of all
who open his repugnant messages.

Stevie, you are a hopeless case. Whose calendar solution are you trying to
flog?

Stevie is our own personal pet troll who is the only one who does not
understand the concept of FREE peer to peer support!
He offers questionable results at unreasonable prices.

These newsgroups are provided by Microsoft for FREE peer to peer support.
There are many highly qualified individuals who gladly help for free.
Stevie is not one of them, but he is the only one who just does not get
the idea of "FREE" support. He offers questionable results at unreasonable
prices. If he was any good, the "thousands" of people he claims to have
helped would be flooding him with work, but there appears to be a
continuous drought and he needs to constantly grovel for work.

Please do not feed the trolls.

Wrong as usual. I do not post as many answers as I would like to because I
have to keep warning posters when you are in troll mode, but I have posted
answers to the Access newgroups. Including this week.

I guess in your eyes, helping posters avoid wasting time and money with a
troll is not being helpful.

Steve

Anyway, I have wasted enough time on your banality, so I am moving on till
the next time you try to peddle your unwelcome tripe.
