Default temp environment variable

Hi,

I have just upgraded from Office 2003 to Office 2007 and have a problem with
Outlook.

The programme loads, but twice comes up with the message - Outlook could not
create the work file. Check the temp environment variable.

When I try to delete an email the system hangs and I have to shut down.

Can you advise a solution?

Thanks

Which version of Windows are you using?
When exactly do you get that message?
What happens when you try to open the Temp folder?
Start- Run; temp
