Default Frequent Front End Issues

Hi all

I have a split Access 2000 database with maximum 10 concurrent users.
Back end is on Windows2003 server.
Front end is on Windows XP SP2 clients.
I have one user who regularly reports issues with incorrect records being
displayed.
The only way to rectify this seems to be to replace the front end each time
it happens.

Any pointers on why this might occur? Could it be a dodgy network
connection somewhere?
This user has had two PCs and it has happened with both, so unlikely to be a
local hardware issue.

TIA

Phil

Exactly what is wrong? Missing records, wrong sort order, not match
criteria either records not matching criteria or incomplete record set for
the criteria?
Seems like it might be operator head space problems.

No the issue is not with the operator, I have witnessed it.
After some arbitary glitch, the first record displayed on her PC is totally
different to the first record displayed on all other front ends for a given
operation. Fields which are populated for a given record on other users'
PCs are blank or come from an unrelated record on hers. Quite scarey if she
doesn't spot this cos she may well end up altering the completely wrong
record/field unknowingly.

Default Frequent Front End Issues

Sometimes I notice crazy things like this when the back-end gets optimized OR
goes unoptimized for a long time.

One, some, or all of my front-end users may start getting crazy on-screen
results. The data is in-tact, but incorrect records appear in lists and forms
and so on.

What I usually do when any front end user starts seeing this behavior is I
will repair/compact the back-end, then repair-compact my 'source' front-end
and then redistribute that front end to everyone.

Usually fixes things for me.

Thanks to all for suggestions.
As this is a single user issue, I am starting with user specific fault
finding.
Replaced her PC network cable and the general speed of operation improved
significantly.
Will wait to see whether the problem re-occurs and implement your measures
if necessary.

Phil
