Default How do I create an Excel chart with data from separate workbooks?

I have data in several workbook files that I want to create one chart from.
I know how to make a chart with data from my current workbook, but how do I
pull in the data from those separate workbooks?

Hi Andy,
1)If you open your Master file and then, one at a time, the data files, you
can drag the sheet tab of the Data file on to the sheet tabs of Master to
make a copy of the sheet.
2)You can link the data with formulas such as ='[Book1]Sheet1'!$A$1
3) You can copy&paste from one file to another (also Copy&PasteSpecial
(Values) to avoid formulas

Hope this helps

Create the chart from the data in one workbook.

To add data from another workbook -- it has to be as a seperate series
-- select & copy that data, select the chart, and select Edit | Paste
Special... Provide XL with the information it asks for.

Alternatively, select the chart, then Chart | Add Data... Select the
range in the other workbook.

Repeat the above for each data range in other workbooks.

To supplement Bernard's and Tushar's responses, you could read the suggestions on this page. It
says separate sheets, but it works for separate workbooks as well.
