Default Appointments being deleted

Appointments to occur in only one day or a few hours are disappearing from my
Calendar without me meaning to delete them. The problem is new, having just
appeared this week. The deleted appointments are nowhere to be found; they
are not in the Deleted Items or Trash folders. Files I had stored inside the
appointment record are also being lost when the appointment disappears. Has
anyone had this problem occur?

we need to do some basic diagnostics:

version of Outlook
what View of the Calendar are you looking at?
do you synchronise with any devices?
