Default hyperlink restriction

I receive the well known response "denied due to computer restrictions, see
administrator" I have looked but not found a solution when trying to use a
hyperlink within word to anther document or powerpoint on my computer or to
an online webpage. I am NOT using outlook, etc.:
Windows 7, Office 2007, IE8
remember I am looking for another file on my computer, word and excel and
powerpoint.
Any help please would be appreciated.

OK, I tried the microsoft Fit It and the problem remains. I am not clear how
addressing another file on my computer would involve IE? The related fix did
not fix the problem. any other ideas?
