how not to check for printer
I have Word 2003. When I launch Word, it'll check for printer and
display a window saying printer not found and ask me whether it should keep looking for a printer. How do I disable such function? Thanks. |

Thanks. You cannot. Word must have access to some printer driver (if not the physical printer) in order to function at all. Make sure you have some printer selected in Windows as the default printer before starting Word. It doesn't matter whether the printer is actually present. Note that using the "Generic / Text Only" printer driver will cause Word to show you only a few fonts (http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NoFonts.htm). -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
