Hi Hassan,

The Index and Tables group of dialogs is really two separate but
similar features: one for making an index, and one for making a table
of contents (or a table of figures or a table of authorities).

Here is some additional information about making an index:

http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...reateIndex.htm
http://www.editorium.com/dexter.htm

And here's some information about tables of contents:

http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...OCSwitches.htm
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Number...gExplained.htm
(click on the "Table of contents" link near the bottom of the page)
