Excel Add Ins
I'm trying to find the Data Analysis Tool Add-In for Excel 2007. Is this a
software you need to purchase? I already have Datalysis, MegaStat, etc. This one is to do Pareto charts. |

Excel Add Ins
Click the Data tab, look to far right for Analysis group. This is where Data
Analysis should be Not there? Then: 1) Office button (colourful, round ball at far left) 2) At bottom of dialog: Excel Options 3) At left: add-ins 4) At bottom in Manage, select "Excel Add-ins"; click Go 5) Click in box "Analysis Toolpak" to add check mark to box 6) Return to worksheet and look again in Data / Analysis best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme Microsoft Excel MVP http://people.stfx.ca/bliengme remove caps from email "School Nut" School wrote in message ... Excel Add Ins
School Nut -
The Analysis ToolPak add-in is available with Excel. If it is installed in Excel 2007, the Data Analysis item appears on the Data ribbon. If not, run setup to install it from the Office/Excel disk. However, the Pareto feature of the Analysis ToolPak's Histogram tool is not very useful because the raw data for the input range must be numeric. Raw data for a Pareto chart is often text descriptions of causes of defects, and the Histogram tool will not count the occurrences of non-numeric data. Instead, you can use the COUNTIF worksheet function to obtain frequencies for text data. Then you can construct a Column chart (vertical bars). Or, you can use an Excel template. Use Google to search for "excel pareto chart" (without the quotes). - Mike http://www.MikeMiddleton.com "School Nut" School wrote in message ...
