Default Footer from Master page not converting to PDF

I am having similar problem as I have put a link to top of document in the
footer. The link says "return to home page". It works when I click on it
ctrl+click and when I "alt+f9" it says top of document.

However, when I convert to pdf it does not work. I do not have the Adobe
printer I don't think. I do have a PDF 995 printer though.

Help!

YES!!! That worked. Fiile Print Adobe PDF saves the file with the footers
but oddly, will not print it. I had to use the saved copy and select Print
in the Adobe screen to get a printed copy. Still, very doable. Thanks so
much. I never would have tried Print when what I wanted to do was SAVE it as
pdf.

Hello Sue,
When you go to Print, if you select the Adobe PDF rather than using the icon on
the menu, does it make a difference? My add-in was disabled long ago from the
menu because it caused problems with Publisher, but the AdobePDF worked
flawlessly. I only know my page numbers always print.

The reason I suggested a different PDF converter, I wasn't familiar with the
term PDFmaker. I did look at my disabled com add in items and discovered Acrobat
was called PDFmaker. Sorry I lead you astray.

The Ignore Master Page is not checked in Pub. In Acrobat I have tried Edit
headers and footers at both the on and off settings and the page numbers
don't show up either way.

Mary, thanks for your help and for the suggestion to try another pdf maker.
It's disappointing, tho, that I am not able to use that feature of MS
Publisher.

There are other PDF converters, many are free. www.primopdf.com is mentioned

I just clicked the pdf icon on my Publisher 2003 program. THe document is a
volunteer club newsletter and we would like to do it just using Publisher
and
not have to buy Adobe Acrobat, too. We will be changing to Publisher 2007
next year and hope to use the conversion tool to change it to pdf so we can
email it to our members.

If you are asking about a hyperlink, I'm not sure how they work with PDF995.
What version Publisher are you using? I know hyperlinks such as yours will work
with Acrobat, but bookmarks have to be created in Acrobat. Read the
documentation that is with your PDF converter.

The "to the top" link will work in your websites, but active hyperlinks do
not survive the conversion to PDF with all pdf tools. I know of no free pdf
tools that will work. Primopdf does not, and I don't think PDF 995 does
either. As Mary suggests you can get a link to survive if you use Acrobat,
and links will survive using Pub 2007 and the PDF add-in.
