Problems with printing transparency
I design a publication using Publisher 2007, and I have been trying without
success to print graphics with transparency. My problem is this: I have saved my graphic as PNG-8, PNG-24 and GIFs to knockout said white background. They show up fine on screen when I'm designing but once I print using CutePDF, the white background is still there. I've tried using the transparency tool on the picture toolbar as well and cannot get it to print without the background. I've also tried using the "Publish as PDF or XPS option" but it seems to make it worse by adding white backgrounds on things that shouldn't have it (i.e. a text box). Please help! |

Problems with printing transparency
An addendum: The workaround I discovered after two hours of work is to save
everything on the page as one picture, then re-import as a picture and print as a PDF. Works beautifully, but it adds an extra step. I have discovered in my research that this isn't Publisher causing the problem but more of a Postscript problem. As a newspaper designer I'm used to just breezing on through with Quark and not having this problem so I find it interesting that Adobe is the one at fault here. Any other suggestions?
