Default Excel Workspace - Worksheet Tabs

Is there a way to cause Excel to display multiple rows of
worksheet tabs at the bottom of the excel workspace rather
than just one?

When a workbook has many worksheets it would be easier to
switch between different worksheets if they were visable.
I am aware that right clicking on the worksheet scroll bar
displays a list of the worksheets and that I can drag the
scroll bar on the lower right side of the workspace to the
right to allow more woorksheet tabs to be displayed but
these solutions don't really meet my needs.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Default Excel Workspace - Worksheet Tabs

Hi Marc,
See replies in excel.misc, which is a much better group to post
to anyway as practically everyone posting questions is already
up and running with Excel. Since I do not see my reply there
I will put it here as well and email you a copy of this posting;
hopefully, it will show up in excel.misc Obviously the virused
emails with attachments everyone is receiving is slowing down
everything, whether they get delivered or not. -----

Excel cannot display multiple rows (layers) of ws tabs.

Some suggestions to make things easier:

You can build a Table of Contents with hyperlinks to the sheets,
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/buildtoc.htm

When you have lots of worksheet tabs the basic logical arrangement
is alphabetical. You can sort your worksheet tabs see SortALLSheets
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel...#SortAllSheets
With sorted sheet tabs, the right-click on the navigation controls
listing of worksheets looks much more meaningful. Having to almost
always hit the "More Sheets" option can be alleviated with a macro
to go directly there
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel...htm#moresheets

If you want categories you can add little prefixes in front of a worksheet
name. i.e. k.Function keys, k.Shortcut keys
since I mentioned shortcuts keys, list of builtin shortcut keys for Excel
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/sortx2k.htm

Colored worksheet tabs were introduced in Excel 2002, though I don't
see it as a big advantage for categorizations or anything else.

The menuZap (payfor) add-in on www.admisoft.com mentioned by
Christopher while it may not change the sheetnames for those without
the software it is going to look different to those who have it and those
who don't. It would seem that there would be about as much work to
setting that up as to set up logical arrangements of menus, so for most
usage straight alphabetical would be sufficient and easier for me.
