My reply associated "q" with question. Therefore, I thought it was important
to provide an adequate "a" (answer).

If the subject was "a" then I would have probably replied with "b" and fully
expected that others would be put in a position of having to reply with "c",
"d",...

Others might have responded with "u" since "q" is almost always followed by
"u" (at least in the English language). Where it would go from there, I have
no clue. It they were followed by "i" and "t", I expect that would have been
the end of "it".
