Default Outlook 2003 and Office 2007

I have installed Outlook 2003 with no other Office 2003 application along
with Office 2007. Outlook 2007 is not installed. Everytime, I start Outlook
2003, I get configuration screen that states "Please wait while windows
configures Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007". After configuration, it
asks me to reboot. After rebooting and restarting Outlook 2003, the same
configuration screen keeps coming up. It only comes up when Outlook 2003 is
initiated.

The MS reccomendation is to install earliest version/component first,
update, before installing later version.
I have to ask, if you have outlook 2007, why install outlook 2003? using
OL2003 will not give you full intergration with the rest of Office

Thanks for the response DL. We are using Outlook 2003 because Microsoft does
not have an Outlook Connector for Domino (Lotus Notes) for Outlook 2007.

Default Outlook 2003 and Office 2007

I may have resolved this problem. It is now Day #2 and so far no Windows
Installer or Configuration popping up. Below is what I have done in order.
I have tested it on a test laptop that I was able to duplicate the problem
and a production laptop.

1.) Add the following registry entries. These entries are to tell Outlook
2003 or Outlook 2007 (whichever yo have installed not to register).
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Option s /v NoReReg /t
REG_DWORD /d 1
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Option s /v NoReReg /t
REG_DWORD /d 1

2.) Replace all Ms Outlook 2003 shortcuts to pint to \Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office 11\outlook.exe

3.) Run CCleaner

4.) Applyl all the Windows Updates and Patches

Now I have tested Outlook 2003 each time I did a solution, so I do not know
if all I needed was step #4. I have another laptop that is having the same
issue. But it may take me a while to get to it because the user is always
out of the office.
