Default Problem viewing 2007pptx file in 2003 involving links

I created a presentation in ppt2007 (so it's saved as .pptx). In it, I have a
link to a slide that is hidden. So, you click the link on slide 10, which
takes you to slide 11 which is hidden. When you click anywhere on slide 11,
it takes you back to slide 10. When you click anywhere on slide 10 (other
than the link), it takes you forward to slide 13.

When I save the presentation down to .ppt, or even when I package to CD, and
then view it on a machine without ppt2007 installed, the link does not work.
Slide 11 is still hidden when viewing it on ppt2003, but the link on slide 10
does not work, so there's no way to see slide 11.

Is there any way to fix this so that the link works properly between
version? Linking isn't listed as one of the compatibility problems between
the 2007 and 2003 versions of ppt.

Thank you,

How did you create the link?

Instead of linking to "next slide," link specifically to slide 11.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926953 has more info. This shouldn't be a
problem when you save as PPTX, however, when you save to PPT, it can
introduce the problem.

I did hyperlinnk by choose "slide 11" as opposed to next slide. It appears
the problem may be with the text box itself.

When I save, it tells me the object on that slide (slide 10) will be changed
to an uneditable picture. I know this happens with smartart and other
PPT2007-specific features, but it seems strange that it's happening with a
text box that has a link in it.

Can you think of a reason why it might be doing this?

Thanks for the help,
Jay

It appears now that it's just a problem with slide 10. I tried adding another
link on a different slide and it worked fine in PPT2003. But whenever I try
linking text on Slide 10, it embeds it as an uneditable picture when I save.
Very strange!

Hm. Is there a glow or reflection or bevel or anything like that on the text
in question? That could cause the issue you're describing.
