DBOYD1952 was very recently heard
to utter:

download as .doc type files????

a) You appear to have Caps Lock turned on. Please press Caps Lock once to
turn Caps Lock off.

b) You appear to be paranoid. No one here would ever think that you had
been downloading child porn. The fact that you suggested it in fact makes
us more, rather than less, likely to think this.

c) This question has nothing to do with Publisher. This newsgroup is for
the discussion of Microsoft Publisher. I suggest that in future you ask
your questions in appropriate newsgroups, and you may get less hostile
replies.

If the files end with .jpg, then they will open with whatever program you
have set to open .jpg files. To configure this, either Right Click Open
With... and select an image editor or viewer, or Tools Folder Options
File Types and change the settings there.

If the files end with .doc, then they are Word documents (no matter what the
sender says), and they will open in Word. Sometimes people will embed
pictures in Word documents to send them to other people (it is a very bad
habit, and I have no idea why people do it).

That's odd, as the first letters of each line were uncapitalised (as if the
Shift key were also being held down).

(Incidentally, I can type left-handed with decent spelling and grammar,
although a little slower than normal (this entire sentence was typed
left-handed, although I used multiple fingers).)
