Default Get Started Tab does not display

Posted this in the general forum and got no response. Maybe someone here will
have an answer.

The Office 2007 Getting started tabs, e.g. Word2007GetStartedTabSetup.msi,
downloads from Microsoft, do not display. They install with no apparent error
but do not show up when the Office app is started.

Operating systems involved are XP Home and Pro, SP3. Office 2007 is up to
date with SP1 and Office Update. On a Vista SP1 system the tab displays asit
should but I had not installed all of the updates for Office, only SP1.

These are a COM add-in and when I look at COM add-in management, it tells me
under Load Behaviour that a runtime error prevented loading. There are no
errors that show in the application log.

The add-in is the Get Started Tab as stated in the subject line, installed by
running the download from Microsoft named Word2007GetStartedTabSetup.msi for
Word and corresponding for Excel and Powerpoint.

These are a great assist to master this repulsive new interface programmers
thrust on established Office users with the release of Office 2007.

I have held off selling Office 2007 for fear of loud protest from
established users, but now with existing computers getting old any training
assistance is welcome.

Yes, it does. I have removed and added it several times. All that works with
no errrors.

Thanks for the link. I missed that. I will give it read and see if I can
find something.

with XML missing in XP.
