Default Table of contents in a table

Good Day
I want to setup a table of contents from a table. I want to select the
words in the first cell of a row, but when I add a Style to the text, all the
text in the same row is change to that specific style. That means everything
in that row (different cells) shows in the Table of contents. Hope you have
an answer for me
Thanks

If you carefully select just (the contents of) the first cell, the style
won't be applied to the whole table row.

On the other hand, if you make use of promote and/or demote (for example by
using the Alt+Shift+Left/Right arrow shortcuts) to apply a heading style,
the whole row might be affected regardless of the selection.
