Default How to remove a grey line at the bottom of a Word document

A grey line has appeared at the bottom of my Word document parallel to the
bottom of the page about .5 inch from the bottom of the page. This isn't in
the footer and it isn't a watermark. How do I remove it?

From your description it sounds like a graphic anchored to the header
paragraph. If you activate the header/footer area, then can you select and
delete the line?
