olmapi32.dll error, now 2711, I need help!
I was using Office Beta 2007 B2TR then there was an automatic office update
and the olmapi32.dll error started when I used Outlook. Following instructions that worked for others in the fourm, I removed Office 07 Beta and tried to reinstall it. During the installation, I got "Error 2711. An internal error has occured. (GraphicsFiltersCDRFilesIntl_1033 )" so I tried to follow instructions on the forum to fix that. I removed all Beta 2007 programs (I had Visio and Groove), I still got the Error 2711. Then, I removed all older Office programs that were on the Add/Remove Prog. list, and still got the Error 2711. Is there something I am missing? Anyone have any suggestions? |

The error 2711 is mostly related to the Windows Installer files. Follow the
steps below to see if it works. Step 1: use Windows Cleanup Utility to remove/reinstall Office 2007 =================== 1. Download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...BD/msicuu2.exe 2. After you install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, click Start menu- All Programs- Windows Install Clean Up find the Office 2007 related entries and remove them. 3. Try to reinstall Office 2007. If it doesn't work, perform step 2. Step 2: Repair Windows Installer =================== 1. Log on to your computer as an administrator. 2. Click "Start" menu click "Run" Type "msiexec.exe /unregister" (without the quotation marks, there is a space between msiexec.exe and /unregister), and then click OK. 3. Open My Computer, click Tools menu Folder Options in View tab, - Choose show hidden files and folders - Uncheck the check box of Hide protected operating system files - Uncheck the check box of Hidden extensions for known file types Click OK. 4. Rename the following three files in the c:\Windows\System32\dllcache folder: Rename msi.dll to msi.old Rename msiexec.exe to msiexec.old Rename msihnd.dll to msihnd.old Note: a. To rename a file, right click on the file and choose "rename". b. If you do not find these files, please just ignore the rename step and go to 3 directly. 5. Download and install the latest version of the Windows Installer (Instmsiw.exe) from the following link. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Try to reinstall Office 2007 again. I used the Installer Cleanup Utility and removed some Office 2007 programs
that were not shown in the normal add/remove programs menu, then reinstalled Office 2007 and it worked perfectly. Thanks Emily, I love you!
