He specifically says it isn't hidden white space. Terry "Doug Robbins - Word MVP on news.microsoft.com" wrote in message ... That is what will happen if the White Space at the top of the document is hidden. Move the mouse cursor to the top of the page until the shape of the cursor changes to two vertically opposed arrows and then double click with the left mouse button. Alternatively, Click on the Office button and then on Word Options in the bottom border and then on Display and check the box for "Show whtie space between pages in Print Layout view" -- Hope this helps. Hi Terry,
Yes, but the header opening in a new pane is exactly what will happen if the White Space is not displayed and you use EditFind to find a word that appears in the Header or Footer of a document. If Jen sends the file to you, I will be interested to hear what you discover. -- Hope this helps. I agree with your assumptions: it definitely doesn't make logical sense which is why I'd like to look at it. Terry "Doug Robbins - Word MVP on news.microsoft.com" wrote in message ... As I have already pointed out, this also happens if the text is in an
*unused* header/footer. For example, suppose you have created a First Page Header with the given text in it. If you then disable "Different first page," Find will still find that text, opening it in a separate pane labeled "First Page Header - Section x." In order to access and delete/change the text, you must enable "Different first page" temporarily. -- Suzanne S. Just did some more digging. Turns out the header was in a table. When he
converts table to text I am able to see the header with no issues. So, it appears to be a problem with not recognizing a table in the header. Is that a known issue? "Suzanne S. No. It is quite a normal practise to use a table to layout a Header -
especially if it contains a graphic. The most likely scenario is that the table is floating that is off the page when you open it on your PC. Without examining it, it is difficult to state exactly why but one possible reason is that you have a different printer driver. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "Jen" wrote in message ...
