.pst file- loading on new computer
Hi,
I just purchased a new computer and I would like to setup my Outlook 2000 in the same way as it was on my old computer. In other words, I am looking to see how is the best way to have my contacts and e-mail folders set up properly on my new computer from my old computer. I have been doing some reading about .pst files. I did copy the old files (outlook.pst and email.pst) from my old computer and did put it in the "hidden" folder on the new computer where the .pst file should be. But when I went to "File/Open/.PST" and tried to open the old pst file, nothing happened. I am very frustrated!! can anyone please help me and give me advice on the best way to get my old folders/contacts into Outlook 2000 on my new computer??? Thanks in advance.. Mike |

If the read only is off, run the repair tool, scanpst.exe, you may have to
run it several times to repair "HT" wrote in message ... I have the same problem and keep getting msg. "Properties for this info service must be defined prior to use" followed by "this is not a .pst file". |

I'm assuming you tried to open within OL.
Run the inbox repair tool, scanpst.exe, you may have to run it several times. wrote in message ... Sorry... the read-only was unchecked... so I am still having the problem. Any other suggestions??
