I love this rice cooker, I use it for brown rice mostly but my son and my daughter will have white rice some times.This new rice cooker has easy instructions, there is one time I'm on vacation , I told my son how to use this rice cooker in general and he did an excellent job. He told me one day he made sushi, he followed instruction that I told him, the rice came out perfectly. I was very surprised, even my son did not know how to cook, and the result came out just as good as me.
I have come to love Gaba rice because of this unit. I never knew the various brown rice varieties could be so flavorful, and have such a delightful mouth feel. I only wish I knew what the cooking temp was at any given moment, a temp reading would be very useful. Also for the Gaba setting, being able to select the sprout time would be an improvement, the two hours the unit is set for seems barely enough. I would love a unit that was dedicated to Gaba brown rice cooking.
The results are as written by so many others. The rice is better than we ever expected it could/would be. Leave it on as long as you want and the rice doesn't burn. Set up and operation are simple. You couldn't ask for a better cooker. The only negative should be obvious. It's five times the price of other cookers you can buy in department stores. When friends try the rice, they rave about it. When they ask how much it cost, they look at us like we're crazy. But, if you are picky about your rice and can afford it, this is the one to buy.
