Absolute vs. Relative Links
Microsoft Sharepoint Portal Server 2001 SP1
Microsoft Excel 2002 (10.3506.3501) SP-1 Links need to inserted into an cell in a file that is stored in Sharepoint pointing to a folder on the Sharepoint server. The link is entered using the absolute path to the folder. Excel translates this to a relative path. The path to the folder is correct with one exception, the webspace name is missing. Example: What we want: http://server-name/webspace/documents/folder What we get: http://server-name/documents/folder When I check the hyperlink it has been translated to a relative path containing "..\..\folder" I have tried adding http://server-name/webspace in the Hyperlink base propery. This hasn't resolved the issue. Anyone have any suggestions? Michael Demers Sharepoint Administrator EMS Satcom |

Absolute vs. Relative Links
Hi Michael,
I'm not familiar with sharepoint. Do you want an Excel link or a hyperlink? Using http:// will force http protocol and most likely port 80. You might try entering it as a UNC path. \\server\shareddrivename\path\filename -- John johnf202 at hotmail dot com "Michael Demers" wrote in message ...
