I suggest you read the OP before you post your off point comments. And Outlook doesn't use OE for Newsgroups? My apologies. I understood the OP's question, I misunderstood your post. Although it relies on OE's resources, you can indeed set up Outlook as a newsreader. Courtesy of MVP Jim Pickering: Outlook uses Outlook Express as its news reader, since there is no newsreader built into Outlook. To use the newsreader in Outlook use the Go menu as explained below: The first time you use the newsreader, you must add the News command to the Go menu. Add the News command to the Go menu. On the Standard toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, click Customize on the Tools menu, and then click the Toolbars tab.), click the Toolbar Options arrow . Point to Add or Remove Buttons, and then click Customize. Click the Commands tab. In the Categories list, click Go. In the Commands list, click News, and drag it, without releasing the mouse, until it rests over the Go menu. When the menu displays a list of commands, point to where you want the command to appear, and then release the mouse. Click the Go menu, and then click News. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ |
