Default the operation failed. the object could not be found.

i am trying to use outlook 2003 with business contact manager. i have an
earthlink account. i have tried setting up a new profile and each time it
tests successfully however no email shows up in my outlook account and when i
hit send/receive i get the error msg: the operation failed. the object could
not be found. when i log into my earthlink mailbox from my desktop i get an
email saying that the test msg was undeliverable. how do i solve this problem
