is there a way to save the calendar (especially the
reoccuring dates)to a disc

Export the calendar or copy it to a new pst and save....

To save it your self - file, new, outlook data file to create an empty
pst. Right click and drag the calendar to it, drop and choose copy. You
could also use a group by view and only copy the recurring appts.
