Default Website to book

I have a website about a classic Sailboat design www.dolphin24.org. The
website uses Dreamweaver and has a lot of pictures and PDF stuff. A lot of
people have asked if I can convert this to a book. Can this be done using
Publisher? Is there software that makes this easier?
Thanks

Excellent website...I could browse it for hours. You certainly (imo) have
enough there to create a book, but it won't be a "push a button" solution.
You'll have to convert everything manually; the text will have to be
unformatted, you'll need to have all the image files in the highest
resolution possible...any thing from the web will not be high enough
resolution (well maybe you'd get a way with a few small 72 dpi images but
not recommended).

IMO you certainly could produce a nice book from info on your web in
Publisher...I would if it were my web! (old salt here :-)

You could even self-publish on demand with sites like Lulu.com, I've not
used them yet but I intend to self publish my grandpa's journal someday
soon.

Thanks Rob
I was afraid of that. I have, in Dreamweaver and in my back up files all
the photos, PDF files, and text. I know to do the book right I should
redraft the text and reorganize where things are, page numbers, Index and all
that.

I could do this over time. Is Publisher a reasonable software to use for
this project?

I use Publisher or InDesign depending on the project. Yep...you certainly
could use Publisher & Word (in conjunction with each other) for your
project.

You may find that Adobe Acrobat & Photoshop will also be helpful along the
way (expensive though).

Ron,

You are going to have to contact a publisher to determine their needs. They
have their idiosycracies that can't be ignored. Do it before you expend time
on it. My publisher required text in MS Word. Photos were required to be
quality 2-1/4" transparancies. Each is different!

and if self-publishing though a site like lulu.com they provide templates
for Word, etc. - however, laying out images in Word...pita.
