Default Outlook 2003 - Applying Label Colors

I am having the same problem in OL 2002 SP2. When I open
an item, I can select a label (with a color other than
white), but after saving it, it does not show up with that
color background on any of the calendar views. This used
to work for me in OL 2000 but stopped working when I
upgraded to 2002.

Here's the kicker: it occasionally (1 out of 50 items)
works correctly. I have a recurring event for which I
changed the time on a single occurrence (not the series):
the changed occurrence now shows the correct background
color, but the original series does not!

I'd really like to get this working -- any thoughts? I
don't see this mentioned as a fix for SP3.

Thanks. Perhaps I am just not setting it up correctly,
though I think I'm pretty computer savvy. I open the
item, go to the bottom right, select a color, and save
it. It shows up as saved, but stays white on all
calendar views. What am I missing here?

-----Original Message-----
Correct, they change the color of the background behind

the text in the
calendar grid. If you set it on the form, it should show

in that color.
However, if you use automatic formatting to change the

colors and have
labels set already, the colors applied by rules won't

work.

don't understand what label colors are supposed to
actually do. As I understand it, they change the color
of the background on an appointment or event. Mine

stays
white, even though it clearly shows another label color
down at the bottom right when I open the event itself.

I'm quite confuseed about what you say you're seeing. It sounds like you
might be mixing up different kinds of color tags. Color labels appeared for
the first time in Outlook 2002, so you could not have used them in Outlook
2000. They work only in day/week/month views, not in table views (which do
support automatic formatting colors, going back to Outlook 2000 and before).

I'm having the same problem. I'm looking at the day/week/month view and all I can get is a white background. I'm used to the color labels I was using in OL 2002 and would like to continue to use them. Is there a configuration issue I should consider? I imported my calendar.pst file from OL 2002, but it never allowed me to assign label colors either prior to or following the import of the .pst file.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same prob. Won't allow me to label with colors. Imported my calendar.pst file from OL 2002 and OL 2003 changed them all to white background. In any case, OL 2003 will not allow me to add color labels to any event. Any ideas?

When I apply a Label with a color to a calender entry, the entry stays white. It does not apply the color. Can anyone provide me feedback as to what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Sue - Please re-read my post (as well as the one from "Aldo"): This is a problem with Outlook 2002 (and above), not Outlook 2000. As I stated, in the Day/Week/Month views, I am unable to see the correct background color based on the label that I have selected for a calendar entry. Instead, only a white background appears, as it does when there is no label. However, I have confirmed that a label exists for that entry.

What could cause this to happen, and what is the solution? I believe that I also imported my calendar as a PST file.

Thanks,
Chris

I have no idea what might cause this. I have never seen any reports of
similar problems and can't duplicate it here. Maybe it has something to do
with your Windows color scheme settings or your display adapter?
