How do I search for the single largest value (numeric) and add a value of 1? I've been reading some of the posts and saw something about DMAX() and Largest but don't have a clue as to how to use them.

Sorry if this is a second post, but I can't find where my first one went. You can tell that I need a basic response......

Thanks.

On my website, see sig below, is a small sample database called
"AutonumberProblem.mdb" which illustrates how to use DMax in just the way
you want.

Make sure everything is spelled correctly. This will often cause the #Error
