If you don't have the printer called Adobe PDF listed in your printer
options, you need to reinstall Adobe Acrobat 6 and be sure to choose the
Adobe PDF printer driver and make sure it is installed. You may need to
contact Adobe support for issues regarding that printer driver.
Once the driver is installed, the process is different than it is in Microsoft
Word. You need to go to File Print change printer to Adobe PDF Choose
a file name for your pdf and then save/print. This is the same way Word
does it, but you just press a button in Word, and it does all of the above
for you.

What printer choices do you have when you are in Publisher?

Default Saving Pub 2003 documents as PDF

You know, I am not an idiot. I read manuals. Thank you. I can create Excel and Word documents in PDF without any problem so I know the procedure. WHen I do the same in Pub it does not work. I thought perhaps I was missing something. I realize that 100's of people send the same exact question and I do and did read them before I decided to write. I do not seem to have the option JoAnn suggests. I open a pub document. go to fileprint and can't find any distiller anywere obvious or in advance settings. I have had various problems with Pub 2003 since I have installed. I have saved PDF in older versions. I can't save new versions into older versions for other people to read despite installing all the updates. I think maybe I have a bum version here but I decided to poke around in here and get scolded for asking for help

A small child turns to Ed, and exclaims: "Look! Look! A post from
Michele !"...
I am confused and duly chagrined. I have read the manual.

Tip: Always read to the END of the message. Don't just limit yourself to
the first piece of advice - try all of them. For your convenience, there is
only one piece of advice in the post after this tip.

To make your life easier, I will tell you EXACTLY where what you need to
know is located.
Load Acrobat 6.
In the "How to" pane, go to "Create PDF"
Scroll down, if Acrobat is in a small window.
Click on "Create a PDF from Authoring Applications"
Read VERY CAREFULLY the FIRST of the bullet points in the article.

This should work if your copy of Acrobat behaves anything like mine. I
hope, for my sanity, that it does.

I work for the University of Delaware and the network shows about 20 printers I can hook up to. My default is a HP 4600 DN.
As I stated in an earlier post (sorry I am all over theplace) I can convert other formats to PDF...doing so in Publisher is hanging me up. I cant seem to find any option for Adobe in any print set up or print drop down box while I am trying to print from publisher.

Not quite, you don't. In general, the procedure is *different* to in Word
or Excel. Word, Excel and PowerPoint are the exceptions to the rule, as
Adobe has created special options for them, as most new computer users using
Acrobat don't know how to create a PDF normally.

And I am not scolding you for asking for help. Asking for help is a good
thing. Not listening to the advice given is what ticks me off. If you
believe you have followed all my advice to the letter, please feel free to
disregard this paragraph. Or all this post. Or all my messages. I
apologize for hurting your feelings. Please feel free to killfile me if it
will make you feel any better.

JoAnn, I think I got it! When I went to FilePrint I did not see the unchecked box "Print to File" and when I checked that, Adobe PDF came up as an option in my printer selections. It would be helpful to note that there is a box that needs to be checked. Some of the other posting suggestions did not mention this.

Thanks for being patient

Brian just informed me that in version 6 they changed the name from Acrobat
Distiller to Adobe PDF. I hope I didn't cause you too much more frustration
that what you must be feeling right now.
