Outlook not remembering password

I just got new computer with XP and installed Office 2000.
I set up my account for Outlook 2000, and it keeps
prompting me for my password, even after I check the box
to 'remember password'. Can you help?

Does this involve something with modifying the registry?
If it does, and I make a mistake, can I use XP's 'System
Restore' feature to undo my mistake??

The problem you are experiencing is normally due to the Registry containing incorrect information for the Protected Storage System Provider registry subkey for your account.
