Default I cannot find the format tab that is supposed to be next to View T

I cannot find the format tab that is supposed to be next to View Tab.

Of all the tabs up top Home Insert Page Layout Reference Mailings Review
View Acrobat Design Layout there is no Format tab - where is it?

Default I cannot find the format tab that is supposed to be next to View T

My version is Word 2007 and Yes I tried the methods posted in 2007 under this
problem - does not work since there is no tools menu in 2007

Well, if you had said that in your first post, my answer would have been
different: In Word 2007, the Format tab is a "contextual" tab. That is, it
appears only when the selected object needs formatting tools. Those include
pictures, AutoShapes, clip art, WordArt, and so forth.

Similarly, the Design and Layout tabs that you mentioned are contextual, usually
appearing when the selection is in a table. If you move the cursor to plain
text, they'll disappear.

Default I cannot find the format tab that is supposed to be next to Vi

Yeh I figured out the contextual thing - boy they really made 2007 harder to
work with. I can't find anything I need, the tools menu, the styles menu for
changing formats, etc. Why do they make this stuff for rocket scientists?

They really screwed up with this version... it is way to difficult to
use.

Umm if you go to the Home Tab there are two sections - Font, where you can
change Fonts, and over on the R/H side, Styles where you can change Styles.
Quite visible really, if you only LOOK....
