Microsoft Exchange in Outlook Express
In article ,
"John" wrote: After downloading the most recent security download for Outlook Express I have the following problems.(1)When I try to send a web page (whcih I used to be able to do) I get a box Titled Microsoft Exchange telling me to pick a profile. I have no idea what they are talking about, and have never seen this before. This means Microsoft Outlook is configured as your default Email handler. This can be changed by opening up Internet Explorer and choosing Tools Internet Options Programs E-mail. (2)I can't start Outlook Express from the desktop start, when I do try, I get the internet options screen from the tools menu of IE. I have to go to start, programs and pick outlook express to open the program. Looks like the shortcut changed or become corrupted. I'm not sure what you mean by "Desktop Start," do you mean the Task bar or your Desktop icons? Regardless, the directions I will give are fairly generic. First delete the bad shortcut by Right-Clicking on it and choosing "Delete" or "Remove From This List." Then add the correct shortcut by finding Outlook Express in your Start menu and using the Right mouse button dragging it to your Taskbar (or wherever you want it). A menu will pop up, choose "Create Shortcut Here" or "Copy Here." For future Outlook Express questions you may want to post to a Windows Outlook Express newsgroup (such as microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlooke xpress for OE 6). This is a Macintosh newsgroup. I've set followups there, in case I got something wrong. -- Adam Bailey | Chicago, Illinois | Finger/Web for PGP & S/MIME | http://www.lull.org/adam/ |
