How to add curved connector bend points
Hello,
I have found that freeform tool needs to be used to extend / add bend points on a line, simply highlight the line, have the freeform tool clicked upon, and draw further lines, - it will add further bends and then get rid of the ones you dont want. Press control and click to add further bend points(which introduces a new vertex point with it.. (it took me ages to find out how to still use the nice lines designed in visio 2003 now that I am using visio 2007. so best of luck DJ "Susan J-P" wrote: Greetings, If I understand the original question correctly, I believe there *is* a way to add new bend points to a connector. It's a bit fiddly (but only a little bit) and is worth the fiddling in the end. To do so, highlight the connector in question and find one of the mid-line handles (green box with an x in the middle). Hold the Shift key and drag the handle. This will create a new parallel line with four new bend points (and two connecting lines). The fiddly part: These new lines and the end points now can be dragged and moved as desired. Get rid of the unneeded new bend points by moving/dragging the handles/end points until Visio merges them. Hope this makes sense. "Eugene" wrote: I believe this creates a Vertex Point and not a Bend Point. I cannot find a way to create additional bend points once a line is drawn. If you delete one you cannot put it back unless the Edit - Undo is still holding it. "Novice" wrote: Hi there, Ive been wondering how to do this for years, and found it! Thought i'd help out even though its 11months later. You use the pencil tool, whilst holding down the Ctrl key. But that's the way it is with the truth sometimes. Thanks for breaking it to me gently, and thanks for your help. "Don Visio" wrote: More than one bend point in a line denotes that the freeform tool was used, & as such, no, you cann't add "bend points." Sorry, I doubt that's what you wanted to hear. -- CWalton VisioRenderer, MD Architectural & Construction Documentation "Evan P. Daily" wrote: Thanks for the help, but I misspoke. I am working with the curved connectors, not lines. My bad. Can I add bend points to curved connectors? "Don Visio" wrote: A drawn line segment has two endpoints with a radius control point between. These three points will only be seen when using the straight line, curve, arc, & freeform tools. With the line selected, hold down control & left click at the point on the line where you want to add a line segment connector. For each line segment connector you add, you will add a radius control handle. You can only add line segment connectors. You cannot add radius control handles. -- CWalton VisioRenderer, MD Architectural & Construction Documentation "Evan P. I can select and delete the existing bend points, but I have not found a way to add them. |
