Default Excel - Selecting font drop down or Bold button...etc crashes

Microsoft Basic 2003 Excel

If I select the drop down font or click on the bold, italics, underline buttons, Excel crashes with an error report.

Everything was working fine the user said until the computer joined a wireless network.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and the error is still there. The computer goes with the student to college in a few days so I really need to get this fixed pretty fast.

Thanks for the help.

Brian:

The purpose of an error report is to help identify the problem. Post the
error message.

Yea. I was going to do that, but it would not let me copy/paste any of the
text from the error report.

I did copy some info down from the error report. Here it is:

Appname: Excel.exe
AppVer: 10.0.6501.0
Modname: Hpzpm309.dll
Modver: 2.240.0.0
Offset: 000355a3

I have been checking around at many different areas. I have run in
/Automation mode with no help. I have disabled all addins. I have run Excel
in Safe mode. I have also tried to run with /Regserver but the program did
not start.

It appears that "Hpzpm309.dll" is in conflict with MS Office. Hpzpm309.dll
is not a part of MS Office. "HP" often indicates "Hewlitt Packard", and
"pm" often refers to Power Management. Is the computer in question an HP?

Whenever I install something that breaks my computer, I get rid of what did
the breaking and restore my system from backup.
