Default Footers in different sections

Ihave inserted a continuous section break in a document
and I need it to have a different footer from the previous
section, but the 'view header & footer' option doesn't
identify it as a different section. Any ideas?

Insert a page break after the section break and then you will get access to
the header/footer panes for the new section.

I think it has to be a Section Break/Next Page.
