Default Cell selection - unselect

When using the control key to select several ranges of cells, is there a way
to unselect some of the cells previously selected?
Thanks

I must be missing something here. While holding down the CTRL key, I can
only select more cells. (excel 2000). If I hold the Shift key down in
addition to CTRL, it de-selects all the previously selected cells (when I
left click).

uber

Not possible without some VBA coding.

See this google search thread for some code from Chip Pearson.

If not familiar with VBA and macros, see David MCRritchie's :getting started"
pages.
